This morning it is a little chilly, our Low being 52F. Our High today is said to be 69F under partly cloudy skies. The relative humidity is 63% with a dew point at 43F, making our chance for rain only 10%. Our winds are out of the Northeast at 5 to 10 MPH. Our sunrise under cloudy skies came at 7:12AM and our sun will set this evening at 6:13PM.

Up this morning to a beautiful sunrise and crisp temperatures. We got in last night at 9:30PM after an evening at the Raleys. John and Jess fixed a wonderful Lobster dinner for the family. John cooked down a bunch of cranberry's he brought back from Maine which were fresh and delicious.
Bud and Thelma were in attendance. Bud and I watched the mining disaster news coming live from Chili. It was a pleasant evening.

By the time we got home, they had begun the decent into the mine, and by 11:30PM the first miner had been lifted out. How miraculous that the rescue seems at the time to be a success. We hope for the best.

Today, I intend to complete three transoms, and possibly continue work on the Heron.

Art & Nancy arrived tonight, after a long drive down from visiting their daughter and son-in-law in Vermont. We spent a short time visiting on the deck, and agreed to get together sometime in the coming week for more visiting and dinners. It is great to see them, and to have them back in the neighborhood.

Great news! As I write they are lifting the last of the Chilean Mines out fom the depths of the earth (2600 + feet down). This is nearly 24 hours since the dramatic rescue began yesterday evening. God is great, to allow these men to be rescued from certain death. So much could have gone wrong, and only one thing could have gone right, and that is the miners return to their families and loved ones. A wonderful day indeed, for Chile, and for the world.
