A wonderfully violent storm moved through the area this evening. The leading edge was visible across the entire spans so the river. I watched the Virginia shoreline disappear behind a curtain of rain.



Once the rain got here, we were covered. It became very dark, with many flashes of lightening and load claps of thunder. Once we were in it, visibility dropped to zero. Fortunately, the rain stayed a while, and we got a very good soaking, which we desperately needed.
