We are up at 5AM this morning, readying the trailer, and off loading the truck (into the trailer) in preparation for our annual buyers run to Farmingdale/Wall, NJ. We are booked on the Ferry out of Lewes at 9:30AM, but there is much to do to prepare.

We are greeted at the Terminal by Old Glory, flying proudly over the Coast Guard Station.
The Great Black Backed Gulls are in attendance, waiting for hand-outs.
Blue Dog waits patiently for the Ferry to load.
The Dunes along the cape are beautiful in the morning sun.
When we arrived, we are third in line. First on, First off! It is an 85 minute trip across the mouth of the bay. It goes by pretty quickly, given all there is to see on the trip.

We passed The Delaware, coming in from the New Jersey side of the Bay.You can see three lights on this trip across the mouth of Delaware Bay. This is the Cape May Light on the New Jersey side. The shot is not great, due to the morning fog coming in off of the Ocean.
This is the old Refuge Harbor light. Notice the spotting tower to the right of the Light, in the background. This Spotting Tower is vintage World War II, utilized to spot enemy ships along the coast. Several of these still stand today, along the Delaware coast.
Sherry & I enjoying our trip across.
And the newest Refuge Harbor Light, automated in 1974. This light sits atop a 30 ft. steel caisson, protected by a three foot thick wall of steel reinforced concrete. It can be see 14 miles out to sea.
We departed Delaware at 9:30AM and arrived in Farmingdale/Wall NJ at 12:30PM. Construction on the Garden State Parkway slowed us down in a number of areas. We arrived at the Rainbow Art Glass House where our orders had been pulled in anticipation of our arrival. We did some more light shopping, and gathered an additional 15 sheets of glass, mostly "T" glass and Wissmach. Our total for the day came to $7,800.00. This should carry us through the year (I always say this, and it rarely does). We were out of there by 3:30 and in the parking lot of the Cape May Terminal by 5:30PM. The trip across was uneventful and we were in port at Lewes at 7:30PM. We gathered up the trailer and were on the road by 8PM. I am certainly happy we decided to put air shocks on the truck this past week, as we were carrying two full crates of glass (82 sheets) and a pallet of miscellaneous and sundry items. This amounted to quite a heavy load indeed. However, we had a safe trip home and arrived in Abell at 12AM Tuesday morning.

The wind is blowing at 20mph out of the east. I predict heavy weather coming in, as we were under it up north, and I believe it has followed us down below the Mason-Dixon Line. I have not yet heard any weather, so we will see how close my prediction comes.
