This post is being made a day late, as I did not get a chance to put it up on Saturday night. So, where to begin? We started the day with everyone chipping in to get breakfast ready. I squeezed the orange juice, Murcott's & Valencia's. John fried the bacon and eggs, while the Ladies made toast and fresh fruit. Sherry, Jess & John had Mimosa's with fresh orange juice, to celebrate our Holiday.

After Breakfast, John & I took the kids down to The Fisheating Creek, to gig some fish! Bad news greeted us though. Recent rains have raised the level of the creek so much that the gigging was not possible. So we returned home, packed up the family, and headed over to LaBelle to the Farmers Market...
The LaBelle Farmers Market is not unlike any market you might go to in any Central American country. The smells, the sounds, the tastes...John picked up five plants for $12 while Sherry picked up a Thatch Palm for $15. I got two cargo straps. It was a fun diversion.
We returned to Palmdale, and I went to work on my raised beds. John kicked in, and we had two done in no time. I have to pick up some more hardware, and the fourth and final box will be completed. Two boxes for veggies, one for strawberrys, and one for Sherry's Herbs! Thanks John.

Before dinner, we all took a walk around town. We stopped by Gator & Evelyn's so the kids could feed some carrots to Dillard. Dillard is a working cow pony, and does not go in for petting, but he does enjoy a carrot no and again.
Back home to a dinner of stone crab/Florida Lobster Imperial, Spiral Ham, Sweet Potato casserole, new potatoes with fresh parsley, rolls, and broccoli . Great meal, until the mosquito's chased us inside, where we had home made cheese cake with strawberry topping. Sherry (with Jess's help) did an excellent job on the food. What a great day!
