Great day today. We started at 6am, headed south to Everglades City through the Big Cypress Swamp. We arrived at our destination at 9AM and boarded our air boats at 9:30. It was a wonderful trip out to the 10,000 Island chain. We stopped for a brief walk around a deserted Island, than blasted off across the flats to the back country. We spied manatees and rosetta spoonbills. The weather was high, with temps in the upper 70'sF. Afterwards, we drove down to Chucalussca, and stopped at the Depot Restaurant for Fried Grouper sandwiches. On a way off of the Island from Everglades City, we stopped and picked up 7lb. of Lobster, and 7 lb. of Stone Crab Claws. We continued across the Big Cypress into Immokela and stopped at the farmers market for some fresh fruit and veggies. Back at home in Palmdale we prepared a wonderful seafood dinner, finished with chocolate cake for dessert. Tomorrow, the beach.
